APBackUp – Useful Utility to Backup Your Data
Review by on
Backing up your important data is a good idea because, should something go wrong and your data is compromised, you have the backup and hence don’t lose your data. What could go wrong? Right off the top of my head I can think of two scenarios: your hardware fails; your computer is infected by a virus or some other malware.

How do you backup your data? Why you use a specialized piece of software that easily and rapidly does this for you. The simple truth of the matter is that there are a myriad of data backup utility out there. Out of them all, I would like to focus on the AVPSoft-developed, the aptly named APBackUp.

Here are the main things you need to know about APBackUp, from a functionality point of view:
- APBackUp can backup data to a hard drive, network drive, DVD, CD-R/W, FTP/FTPS, or LAN.
- You can perform backup tasks manually, or you can set it up so that APBackUp automatically runs backup tasks.
- The novice computer user will like that APBackUp comes with an easy to use interface while the advanced computer user will like the application’s powerful features. The international user will appreciate the fact that APBackUp’s interface provides support for several languages. Apart from English, the following languages are supported: German, French, Spanish and Russian.
- Backups can be stored like they are (uncompressed), or compressed in ZIP archives. To prevent others from accessing your backups, they can be encrypted and password-protected.
- Keep files and folders synchronized.
- When APBackUp is done, it can send a notification via email.

Before you go get APBackUp and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 6.0MB.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, APBackUp provides support for Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, Vista, and Windows 7.
Limitations – you can use APBackUp free of charge for a trial period of 30 days.

With its intuitive interface and its powerful features, APBackUp is a properly good data backup utility. It is easy to use, backs up data to pretty much any storage media you can think of, and does its job efficiently.

Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Can backup data to various media
  • Multilingual interface
  • Scheduler
  • Encrypt backups
  • Email notification when a task is done
  • Works with Windows 7

Cons
  • Free to try (30-day trial)
